Winter is at our doorstep. Late fall weather can be mild but misleading. Sudden changes in temperature combined with windy days can lead to dry skin and chapped lips. Now is the time to switch the strategy and keep our glowing silky skin!
Make Mine Real Dry
Late fall weather may mean an unexpected attack on your skin. You may find that not all of your winter gear is down from the attic, so more of your skin is exposed to direct chill. Also, fall winds introduce a chill factor that makes temperatures feel colder. The body responds with drier skin, chapped lips, and itchy knees, hands, and elbows.
Moisturize More Often
If you are experiencing dry skin, apply facial moisture twice a day - in the morning and before bedtime. Use body lotion after bath, and more frequently on drier spots.
Dress Warmer
Keep your skin protected from the cold: cover your hands and avoid bare skin as much as possible. When staying outdoors for long, try to cover your chin and cheeks with a scarf or a long turtleneck. Cover your forehead with a hat.
Carry lip balm and body lotion or a lotion stick in purse
Always carry lip balm with you. Lip skin is very delicate and is now constantly exposed to harsh conditions. Applying a thin layer of lip balm every now and then goes a long way.
Knees, feet, and elbows become extremely dry when the temperature drops. Lotion stick is small enough to fit in any purse, and can be applied quickly any time and save you from scaling and itching.
Stay warm and have a great winter!
